Cash on delivery, and what to watch
Most customers in Lebanon prefer to pay the courier. Turning cash on delivery off will cost you orders.
What it costs you
Time. The cash reaches you through your normal payout, after the courier has handed it in. It is not same-day money.
Refusals. A customer can decline the parcel at the door, and a refused parcel comes back to you. It is the one real risk of cash on delivery and it is why the next two paragraphs matter.
How to have fewer refusals
Describe the product honestly, including size. "Smaller than I thought" is the most common reason a parcel is refused, and it is a description problem, not a customer problem.
Answer messages before the parcel goes out. A customer who has heard from you takes the parcel.
Turning it off
You can, per country, in your settings. Consider turning it off only for the few items where a refusal would actually hurt — not for the whole store.
